History:
The Forgotten Warrior Run was first held on Labor Day weekend 2006 by Dago Chapter for the purpose of awarding P.O.W./M.I.A. flags to the families of the San Diego 22.
The very first Forgotten Warrior Run was held in honor of PFC Thomas F. Green of Ramona, California. His parents accepted the flag. An article covering this event was published in a local newspaper, The North County Times.
The second Forgotten Warrior Run was held on Veteran’s Day weekend, 2006 in honor of SP4 John. H. Hoeffs of Oceanside, California. The Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, CA accepted the flag, where it currently flies.
The third Forgotten Warrior Run will be held again this year as a Veteran’s Day tribute on November 17, 2007 in honor of LCpl Dennis R. Christie and another unit member, Michael W. Havranek
